Although this is largely a woodland trail, there is a lot of variety in the fauna - from luxuriant grasslands to alpine meadows to cool woodlands. The grasses are of different varieties with a gamut of colours. There’s more colour provided by flowers, the first signs of fall in the woodland areas. At the end of the trail, you’re provided with a panoramic view where you can see miles and miles of the surrounding prairie.

The Beaver Creek Trail begins from Beaver Creek Campground and provides access to Nichol Springs Campground. There is also a Forestry Museum just down the hill. It's largely forested, well marked, and easy to follow, and it can be combined to make a loop with the Horsheshoe Canyon Trail on the way back.

Trail is easy to follow and mostly cleared and well kept in all seasons. Except during spring, when you should expect to see a few fallen down trees. Look out for tracks and animal left over "treasures", since this trail is much more of a backcountry trek and is not often used by people. There are some great views from the top of this viewpoint.
