Starting from the town of Mende, this fourth segment of the GR®670 (or Urban V path) descends towards the south to end in the small village of La Fage. This route in the Cévennes goes through Mont Mimat (1068 m), then the villages of Lanuéjols and Saint-Etienne-du-Valdonnez. This is a demanding trail in terms of its distance and elevation, which alternates between agricultural landscapes and wooded areas.

This hike is located northeast of Balsièges and starts at Place du Foirail in Mende. The route goes through, among other things, the Way of the Cross, below Mont Mimat culminating at 1068 m altitude and La Chaumette, before returning to the starting point. Other natural areas are also to be discovered around this route, including the Cévennes National Park.

Pleasant walk on the slopes of the Causse de Changefège, which leads you to the troglodyte chapel and hermitage of Saint-Chaousou, both located in a wood near the village of Balsièges. You can also see a dolmen with a slab of 4 meters in length. A pilgrimage is organised every year to this Catholic chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph.
