B&B HOTEL Bordeaux Mérignac Hôtel de Ville

Created around 1870 by the landscaper Le Breton, this 17ha park is listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. The town of Mérignac, after development work opened it to the public in 1985. The park consists mainly of ornamental species from the United States, Europe and Asia. This hike or run partly in the forest is located south-west of Bordeaux and begins in Mérignac. The route partly runs along the Peugue stream and passes, among other things, the Moulin de Noès, the Bois du Burck and the Château Pique-Caillou before returning to the starting point.

With its confidential vineyards and classified growths, its avant-garde housing estates by Le Corbusier, its wooded parks, its street art frescoes and its numerous heritage sites, this bike ride between Pessac and Mérignac tells some of the great chapters in the history of the Bordeaux conurbation.

It is since 1836 that many horses have trodden the tracks of Bordeaux-Le Bouscat racecourse every year. By decision of 23rd April 1835, the Government of Louis-Philippe authorized the transfer of the Hippodrome de Gradignan to Le Bouscat on a 56-hectare site. The start of this route is in the Bourgailh car park in Pessac in the Gironde department. This route winds through the forest and the Bourgailh ecosite to finally reach the banks of the Peugue. It draws a loop but you have the possibility of taking the cross paths.
