This hike near Le Tholonet takes you to Lake Zola. This artificial lake located under Montagne Sainte-Victoire is no longer in operation but is still being maintained. The dam was designed by the father of the writer Émile Zola. Along the way you will have beautiful views of the lake and of La Montagne Sainte-Victoire.

This course in the heart of the Sainte-Victoire nature reserve starts from the Parking du Toscan near Le Tholonet in the Bouches du Rhône. The reserve was created to protect an important deposit of dinosaur eggs. Located at the foot of the Massif de la Sainte-Victoire, the trail offers a beautiful view of its cliffs and the surrounding villages. Warning: It is forbidden to leave the paths.

This hiking route located in the department to the west of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain in the Bouches-du-Rhône, will make you discover the Château de Tholonet, the Moulin de Cézanne and pass over the Zola dam which created the reservoir of water from Lake Zola. The starting point is located on the Cézanne road. You will mainly follow marked paths.

This route starts from the town of Le Tholonet and takes you to Lac de Bimont. Along the way, you will pass by the Bimont dam and counter-dam. The Bimont dam is largely fed by the western branch of the Provence canal via an underground gallery. Its counter-dam collects the water discharged to supply the Marseille-north branch of the Provence canal.

This route from Parc du Tholonet takes you to Lac Zola, an artificial lake formed by the Barrage Zola (37.25 meters high) along the La Cause river. The Zola dam is one of the first arch dams in Europe and was built in 1854. The Zola dam was decommissioned in 1980, but not destroyed. It is strictly forbidden to access the shore and to swim in this reservoir, for safety and environmental reasons.
