Trail is well maintained and clearly marked. Starting west from the parking lot (counterclockwise on the loop), the first 1/2 mile or so in on boardwalks over the marsh which are fine and interesting. The next mile+ is on a gravel path/road for quite a while with little to see and then through some stands of trees - not proper woods, but might be in another 20 years.
