This route along the Edgewater Trail begins on the west side of the refuge and offers a short and easy hike to viewpoints of Black Bayou Lake. This is a great area for birdwatching and fishing. Wildlife can often be seen in this lush forested area. This trailhead also is the access point to view the retention ponds.
