To facilitate navigation on the Dordogne, the main communication axis of southern Périgord since the High Middle Ages, the Lalinde canal was dug from 1838 to 1843 between Mauzac and Tuilières. You will find there all along, locks, basins, aqueducts, lock keepers and in particular the Tuilières staircase.
