Lake Murten is a lake in the cantons of Fribourg and Vaud in western Switzerland. It takes its name from the small town of Murten / Morat on its southern shore. It is the smallest of the three lakes of the Seeland or the Land of the three lakes of the Swiss plateau, located at the foot of the first Jura chain. The main tributary is the Broye River. It will be possible to discover the city walls of Murten that are accessible to the public and offer a magnificent view of the city and the lake.

This trail begins in Murten at the train station and is ideal for a bike ride. Following the shore of Lake Murten/ Lac de Morat to the border of the Greves de la Motte nature reserve. It then goes back to the beginning of Murten/ Morat via fields and meadows. There one is able to find some piece and quiet while treating oneself with a break on the shore of the lake.
