The surface of the trails is a mix of paved, mulch, and several sections of boardwalk that travel over bog areas. Native plant and animal communities are very prevalent in this area and are often seen along the way.

This beautiful park located along the beach serves as one of the most popular beach access points to the community. There is a three-quarter-mile boardwalk along this route that travels over wet prairie land and a variety of wildlife can be seen in the area. There are also restrooms, foot showers, and guided nature walks available at the trail head.
