Adjacent to South Beach State Park, South Jetty offers horse access to the beach, fishing, clamming, surfing, scuba diving, and (for the advanced) windsurfing when conditions permit. This route is completely paved, but there are side trails that are a natural surface (dirt or sand). Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area extends one mile out from the Oregon coast. The 93-foot lighthouse has been guiding ships along the coast since August 20, 1873.
