This loop trail begins at Highland Forest Park's Skyline Lodge. The trail is well marked with green "M" tags on the trees. The trail is well shaded in the summer and winds through peaceful forests with a few easy stream crossings. The trail dips up and down with short but moderately strenuous elevation gains and occasionally intersects cross-country skiing trails, day use shelters, and horseback riding trails. Begin by following the Onondaga Trail passing by Tinker Falls. This is a cool waterfall with a shallow cave behind it. The trail continues passing a great overlook and a nearby valley and then arriving at Spruce Pond. Once you reach Shackham Road, begin following the road back to the parking area. You will walk along the road for about 1 1/2 miles.

This route follows the Onondaga Trail from State Route 91 to the top of Jones Hill. From this point, there is a wonderful viewpoint of the surrounding area and Labrador Pond below. The first half mile is especially steep, and after this, the trail is more of a gradual climb to the top of the hill. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow.
