Nusa Lembongan’s northeast corner is covered with a substantial mangrove forest which plays an important environmental role sheltering the coast and preventing erosion. It's possible to explore the area by boat. The best time for spotting bird- and wildlife is early or late in the day, when you may see crabs, lizards and nesting birds. Do watch the tides, as your trip can be more limited in low tide.

Gamat Bay is one of Nusa Penida’s hidden gems. Wilder and more rugged than nearby Crystal Bay, this black sand beach is definitely worth a visit. If you’re looking for an accessible snorkeling spot without joining one of the boat tours, then Gamat Bay got you covered. Gamat Bay offers some of the best shore snorkeling you can find on Nusa Penida. In the morning you’ll see a bunch of tour boats coming to Gamat Bay. Beautiful spot looking out on Gamat bay, Mount Agung and Lembongan. Without a doubt, the view from Amok Sunset is one of the most stunning in the world. It is recommend getting here at least an hour before sunset to get the full majesty of colours. One of the best sunset spots in Nusa Penida. A little rough road to get there but totally worth it.
