The Nufenen Pass connects the village of Ulrichen in Goms (canton of Valais) with the town of Airolo in Ticino at the end of the Bedretto Valley via a 37 km long pass road. It is at an altitude of 2,478 meters and is the highest pass road that runs entirely within Switzerland. From the top, visitors have a fantastic view of the Bernese Alps with the Finsteraarhorn, the Gries Glacier, and the Nufenenstock.

The 94 stage is located in the canton of Valais. In a westerly direction you climb about 200 m from Ulrichen. From here you walk along the Höhenweg to Bellwald. Here the ridge path leads down to Fiesch. Continue on the western flank of the Fieschertal to the stage destination Fieschertal or you can take the bus. A fantastic hike in Obergoms to Gletsch, one of the cradles of tourism in the Alps. The path begins at the train station in Oberwald and leads along the Rotten, as the young Rhone is called, to Gletsch. The Rottenloipe runs flat through the picturesque high valley of Obergoms, from Oberwald to Niederwald. The trail mostly leads along the river Rotten, past quaint villages surrounded by dense protective forests and snow-white peaks. The entire route is well signposted, with turquoise signage and the white number 640 on a blue background.
