This is a great trail that will take you from the heart of Oshawa all the way down to Lake Ontario. The scenery is amazing and along the path you meet nice people, and there is plenty of opportunity to bird watch, look for small wildlife, and even to fish depending on the area. This is a popular area for weekend walks, especially during the fall foliage events. Fall also brings opportunities to see the salmon runs.

Cedar Valley Conservation Area is a lovely green park just outside of a residential community. The paths are narrow but well worn with many alternative branches to the walk if you choose to wander. They are not particularly well-marked, so downloading your map may be helpful if you want to stay on the exact route.

This is an absolutely beautiful trail if you like waterfront trails. At times, it can be windy and cold, so you will want to bring layers. The waves are always a sight to behold as they crash against the shoreline in the wind and it will be mesmerizing. On most of the trail, you will feel like you’re on the edge of the earth if you take the unpaved trail near the cliff. Overall, this experience has lots to offer.

This is one of the favourite parts if the waterfront trail within Oshawa that is all trail with no road walking and lots of water views. The trail has changed slightly at the Thickson Road entrance due to the new parking lot. Folks also recommend entering from Thickson Road, especially if you are looking for a longer walk to the Waterfront area where there is more shade and places to picnic.
