Hyatt Place Ottawa West

This follows Trail 11 and Katana Nordic Trail 12. This trail is on Ottawa Greenbelt land, so don't be put off by the forbidding signs posted by Wesley Clover Parks. It is accessed from the large parking lot off Corkstown road. Woods loop with some nice changes in elevation, clearings offer nice views. Dogs are not allowed on the trail in the winter. There are many offshoot trails in this trail network system.

Bruce Pit is a nice place to go for a walk with your dog. You can go socialize just like you can go in the woods for peace and quiet. Most of the trails in the area tend to get quite muddy, so you will want to wear good footwear. This is a popular area for dogs to hike with owners, so expect crowds on weekends. The trails are quite icy in winter.

Easy to follow trail with minimal elevation, but be mindful of exposed tree roots and rocks. Easily expandable for those who want a longer walk. Access through West Hunt Club Road. This loop of section of Stony Swamp Sector, to the west of Moodie Drive, navigates a broader trail system with plenty of options to explore.

Lime Kiln Blue Loop is a well-maintained, easy trail with almost no elevation and lots of wildlife. There are some muddy sections and the terrain is a little rough, so wearing hiking boots with good support is recommended. Bringing insect repellent can help deal with the mosquitos that are prevalent in the forest.

The terrain on this trail consists of dirt and wooden boardwalk without edge barriers. Some sections are overgrown. Likely wheelchair and stroller users will only be able to do part of this route. This is a great trail for birdwatching and it can also be extended to include other trails in the area for a longer hike.
