You will enter the canyon on a metal walkway. From the walkway, you can choose to simply enjoy the views or descend a stairway down to the base of the falls where the temperature will be around 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperatures.

This is a section of the Perimeter trail. See the full trail here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/ouray-perimeter-trail The route as mapped here actually represents a shorter out and back (plus loop section) hike, but the trail itself continues for quite a while past the indicated turnaround point, so you could continue further along the trail if you’re looking for a longer trip altogether.

Easy walk from close to downtown with a great waterfall (seasonal) From the trailhead simply follow the trail along the stream as it leads you up to the falls. If the stream isn't flowing at the trailhead it's not likely there will be any falls to see at the end. There are several signs along the way to tell you a little about the area and the falls. Bring a rain jacket if you want to get very close to the falls.
