This route follows mostly easy terrain as you climb up to the tower for great views. You can start from the small trailhead parking area that is off the Highway of Heroes, but you will access it by way of Highway 130. This trail is well maintained and pretty short and sweet, and even in winter, it offers a nice nature escape. Hikers recommend wearing crampons in winter or snowshoes.

Four Falls is located in Aroostook, and yes…there are four falls of varying height. The spot is popular for fishing. The waterfalls are spaced about 50-75 m from each other. It is only 350 m from the road where you park to the mouth of the Aroostook Rive. Make time and walk the whole distance….you will see very different waterfalls.

You have to see this waterfall. It is the waterfall that just keeps on giving....with a series of smaller waterfalls below the Maggies Falls. It is a 17.5 km trip from the intersection of Routes 105 and 109 in Perth-Andover. Follow Route 109 this distance until you come across Birch Ridge Road. Turn right onto the road and travel 5.9 km. As you start on Birch Ridge Road, you will go by the DOT Licford Maintenace Depot. At 5.9 km, you will see Birch Ridge Crossing Road on your right. ...

North Peak Trail is a short but steep climb up to a viewpoint. From here Haystack Mountain is visible in the distance and greater Aroostook County. Aroostook County is one of the biggest potato-growing areas in the US, and many farms are visible from here. In the summertime blueberries can be found growing along the trail.

This trail climbs up and over North Peak to the summit of Quaggy Joe, also known as South Peak. From the summit, there are views of Haystack Mountain, Echo Lake, and surrounding Aroostook County. Keep an eye out for signs of deer, moose, fox, black bear, along with smaller animals who call this forest home.
