Varied circular hike in the Upper Austrian Traunviertel near Scharnstein. From the Viechtwang train station, you can hike comfortably along the Alm to Scharnstein-Mühldorf and on to Tießenbach. Here it goes into the forest and a short but very steep ascent to the ruins follows. Popular mountain hike in Upper Austria. Meisenkögerl (sometimes Maisenkögerl) is a small and easily accessible peak near Scharnstein. The starting point is a small car park called Rauschenberg at the end of the asphalted Hamberg road. The officially suggested duration for the ascent is approximately 50 minutes.
