Two sections of trail, both are loops. You have the front side and the dark side. All trails have narrow paths made for mountain biking. There are also a lot of wood obstacles throughout the woods made for more extreme mountain biking. It's very pretty and follows a river throughout.

The Tolleston Dunes Trail winds amid 4,700-year-old sand dunes that were formed when Lake Michigan’s water level was 25 feet higher than today. Tolleston is the second youngest of four distinct dune systems found within the national park. Together these dune ridges provide a glimpse into the changing shoreline of Lake Michigan. This state-dedicated nature preserve features a complex of sand prairie, oak savanna, and wetlands. More than 400 species of plants have been identified, many of them state-listed. Prickly pear cactus produces its showy yellow blossoms in early summer. An outstanding display of prairie wildflowers attracts a variety of butterflies in late summer.

The Iron Horse Heritage Trail runs east-west through the City of Portage, from Imagination Glen Park East (where the Iron Horse connects with the Prairie Duneland Trail) west to Hamstrom Road.
