The trailhead is located on the northern side (highway 70 entrance) of the park. This is a very popular park and can be very busy on pretty days. This is a good woods walk. Pott's Branch Trail is a 1.3 mile easy loop trail located in the northeastern side of Umstead State Park near Raleigh, North Carolina accessed off Hwy US-70 that parallels a scenic stream/creek. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. It can be accessed via one of the two parking areas at the end of Umstead Parkway and can be used to connect to the Oak Rock or Sycamore Trails. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
