A steep climb to one of the largest volcanic tuff cones in the world! The hike starts with a steep climb up a rocky and slippery trail. Once at the top, it will feel like you are standing on the edge of a crater. In the distance, you'll see mountain ranges and sand dunes. The two buttes in this area were formed around 10,000 years ago when basalt magma rose through the groundwater. The area is known to have an abundance of wildlife, including deer, rabbits, and birds.
