From the waterfront in Rijeka, the path leads to Trsat. Trsat used to be a fortress-castle, but today it is a recreation area, a historical monument and a place of pilgrimage. It is located high on a hill to which 561 steps lead, from where there is a view of the whole of Rijeka. In the 13th century, the fortress had a strategically key position. After Trsat, the path leads through beautiful streets through the center of Rijeka.
