The Pali Aike cave is located 196 kms. from the city of Punta Arenas, in Region XII, in the Pali Aike National Park. It was discovered and studied in the 1930s by Junius Bird, who found cultural vestiges, human remains and the remains of Pleistocene fauna, large animals that are now extinct. This cave, among other remains, contains three cremated human skeletons, demonstrating funerary ceremonies and providing important information about the physical characteristics of these people.
