This simple route travels parallel to the river and through a beautiful wooded forest. The route is mostly shaded and is great for walking, jogging, and cycling. This is a very family-friendly route with other amenities in Old Settlers Park to enjoy as well such as recreational fields and a playground.

This route is a combination of the Winfred H. Bonner Trail and the Randy Morrow Trail. Blue Hole, 50 foot cliffs, easy hike-bike, two river crossings, 3 bridges This is an easy, hike in a suburban setting suitable for bikes and strollers. This portion is mostly cement. It has 2 bridges crossing the river. The first one actually crosses just below where the North San Gabriel joins the South San Gabriel. The second crosses the North San Gabriel near the end of the hike.

While the beginning of the trail is well-marked, the path is easy to lose as the further you go the less maintained the trail is. The area can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended. There are several sections where the path can be quite rocky and sturdy shoes are recommended.
