Laanilan Kultareitti (The Gold Trail) offers an opportunity to learn about the history of the gold rush in the Laanila and Saariselkä areas. Kultapolku starts along highway four and ends in the parking area at the beginning of Kutturantie. Along the route you will find the Kaarle Kustaa mine, the Everst mine, the many gold monuments of Kuivakuru, the Kerkelä mining village and the Laanila quartz rock. The Ahopää loop is a shorter alternative to the Ahopää hiking route. It goes through the same scenery, but it's a good day trip destination. The route starts from Kiilopää and initially follows the same path as Poropolku and Kiirunapolku. On the northeast side of Ahopäät, the route departs from Poropolku and continues around Ahopäät. The trail returns to the starting point along the border of the national park. This is not an official national park route, so it has no route markings.

Luirojärvi trek is a long ring route in the fell terrain of Urho Kekkonen National Park. The route can be hiked all year round, walking in summer and skiing in winter.
