Walk along the sea in the magnificent seaside resort of Saint-Malo, starting from the Jardin des Douves. Along the way, you will walk along sandy beaches, and you will walk on the rocky point of La Varde, in the Rothéneuf district. You will have beautiful views of small coves and the sea.

Saint-Malo, a privateer city, is the main port and the most touristic town in Brittany. Its ramparts, made of granite, were built from the 12th century and they form a loop of 2km. It is advisable to start the walk by taking the Porte Saint-Thomas, located behind the Place Chateaubriand. From there, you will have a magnificent view of Sillon beach on the right, the Fort National in front and the islet of Grand Bé on the left. This walk passes by the four Vauban forts of Saint-Malo, which were created to protect the city from attacks by the English and Dutch navies. Some forts are located on rocky islets. Please note that some segments of this route can only be traversed at low tide.
