This route is the twenty-third and last stage of the GR®223, a Great Hike which is also called the Tour du Cotentin, which goes from the village of Berville-sur-Mer in the Eure to Mont-Saint-Michel in the Sleeve. This stage begins in the village of Pontaubault, then runs along the coast to reach Mont Saint-Michel, a rocky islet and bay listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
