A trail around the Salem Reservoir that is open to hikers and cyclists. Features views of the Salem Reservoir, local flora and fauna, and a 19th century cemetery. The Bryan Nature Trail is located at the north end of the Bryan Memorial Park. The Trail encompasses the City reservoir and surrounding forested land. It is open to hiking and bicycling for those wishing to enjoy the beauty of this Natural area.

Cherokee trails are broken into 3 loops. Loop 1 is about 1.2 miles and loops 2 and 3 are about .8 miles each. Loop 2 and 3 share a common leg for a short distance. Loop 3 also shares a leg with Pawnee trail. The two split at the end of a paved path that leads from the parking area to an old cemetery of early settlers in the area. There are several nice views of Lake Carlyle. The trail is nicely wooded and there are deer, fox and other wildlife possibly seen along the way.

Pawnee trail shares a leg with Cherokee trail loop 3 along a paved path to an old cemetery of early settlers in the area. It shares another leg on the other side of the loop with Kaskaskian trail. There is a connecting trail to enter from the Eldon Hazlett Cottages. The trail is wide and well maintained through a nice forest, with one leg paralleling the shoreline of Carlyle Lake. Deer and othe wildlife can be seen along this trail as well

Kaskaskian trail is an easy, flat trail through a mixture of forest and prairie areas. The trail offers beautiful wildflowers, butterflies and lots of mushrooms along the trail.
