This route begins at Colorow Road where you can park along the road. Use caution on roads and use all sidewalks and crosswalks. Heads up! This route uses a section of the BST behind the University which is a very popular multi-use trail section. The trail is shared by hikers, mountain bikers, and dogs. Keep your eyes out for others out there enjoying the trail. Hikers have the right of way, but should be aware of mountain bikers riding around blind corners or downhill.

This route, along with most of the BST, is a heavily trafficked trail all year long. It is wide and relatively flat this entire section. Be cautious of bikers, runners, and dogs on this multi-use, multi-directional trail. Begin this trail at Colorow West trail access. After crossing the road by the Red Butte Garden Ampitheater, use the service road to connect to the upper BST segment.
