This is a beautiful mountain bike ride in the hills near Parma. The highest point of the hike is Pietra Corva (543m). With a small detour at kilometer 13.3 it is possible to visit the remains of the Roccalanzona Castle, built in the 10th century. From km 5 to km 6 there is a stretch of private road that must be covered with the utmost respect for the neighborhood.

This pleasant itinerary leads up to Pietra Corva (543m) via Visiano and Poggio Bianco (505m). The first part up to Visiano is on an asphalted road but then the path is on a dirt road. From Poggio Bianco to Pietra Corva follows the Via Marialonga. On the way back, almost at the end of the route, you pass the Roccalanzona Castle, a medieval manor built in the 10th century.

The itinerary starts in the city and crosses cultivated fields, hills, small inhabited villages, with a climb full of enchanting views up to Monte Mengo (359m). Possibility to stop in Caselle in the middle before descending from the hills for a well-deserved break.

Immediately after Fornovo, take a long stretch of the provincial road of Val Sporzana to reach the foot of Bardone and Terenzo, two small villages characterized by beautiful churches. From here get to the SS 62 della Cisa which you follow up to Cassio and Berceto, with the Cathedral of S. Moderà. Outside the inhabited centers it is not possible to obtain water supplies. Past the first climb, outside of Fornovo, keep on walking along a provincial track in Val Sporzana to reach Bardone and Terenzo, two little villages including two wonderful Pieve. A difficult hill leads to Casola Castle, then go up and down through a wood of conifers that pilgrims undertake heading for the Hostel of Cassio.
