This itinerary can be shortened, lengthened, or made into a loop by connecting to the main road (Viale Chia) or to various trails leading to the Chia Pond and other inland points along the promontory. The excursion starts from the Chia Tower and reaches Perda Longa, passing by Capo Spartivento, where a lighthouse has been transformed into a private five-star hotel.

It was built in 1578 to defend the mouth of the Rio Chia, which was a source of water supply for pirates.

It is advisable to be careful on the way back because the path can be covered in water from the stream.
