This low peak (1,868 m) is part of the long Mendola chain, which separates the Valle di Non from the Val d'Adige and whose highest point is Mount Roèn (2,116 m). Gantkofel (German name) can also be reached from Passo delle Palade but for those coming from Trentino it is better to opt for the route as shown on this map: start from Lake Tret or from the Regole di Malosco and follow the upper Val di Non. This second choice requires an additional 300 meters of elevation gain.
