Steigenberger Alsik – Hotel & Spa

This route takes you along Alssund, which is the strait between the Jutland peninsula Sundeved and Als. The strait is 500 meters wide, 8 - 10 meters deep, and no more than 8 km long. Enjoy the beautiful view of the strait before the route takes you further around a field, to then return once again again along the beautiful strait.

This trail takes you through parts of Sønderborg, where you will pass a small lake on the way to Spang. You will come through several small parks along the way.

Beautiful and historical trail through the nature of southern Jutland. The trail offers beautiful nature in the form of forest, fields, fjord, lakes and much more. You will come past Dybbøl Mill, where the historic war in 1864 was fought. The war was between Denmark and Austria - Prussia, where Denmark loses Selsvig and Holstein to Germany. The trail also takes you past the beautiful Gråsten Castle, where Queen Margrethe usually resides during the summer.

This trail takes you past Sønderborg Castle, which is located in Sønderborg town overlooking the fjord. Sønderborg Castle can be dated back to the 13th century but was rebuilt in 1550-70 to a renaissance castle. Today, the castle is a museum that tells the story of Southern Jutland's history from the Middle Ages to the present. Several wars are highlighted more than others, as they played a major role for Southern Jutland, such as the wars of 1848-50, 1864 and 1914-18.
