While there are no jaw-dropping views, wildlife can often be spotted in the area as most of the route travels through lowland shrubs and along the river. It is suggested to bring plenty of water as this area can become very hot in the summer months, with few sections of shade. Some form of sun protection is advised as many areas are exposed to the sun. It is common to see a variety of wildlife along the way.

There is little shade along the way, and it is suggested to visit in the early morning or during the cold months. Wildlife can often be seen in the remote sections of this trail. There are restrooms and covered tables at campsites along the trail.

This is a lovely scenic hike that showcases the rim of Seminole Canyon with bountiful viewpoints along the way. The path is well-marked and there is a fair amount of shade and shade shelters along the way. The views of the Rio Grande are impressive from above and you can see for miles from the overlooks.
