The majority of this hike is along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through flatland ecosystems. This area serves as a bird sanctuary and there are many species that thrive in this coastal haven. If you walk this coast during the proper time of year, you may see nesting sea turtles along the shoreline.

The trailhead provides access to water sports rental, a launch site, restrooms, outside showers, and a reservable pavilion. The trail is prone to flooding and is not recommended to travel during wet or high tide conditions.
