This is a short trail that leads to a lava cave that goes back a mile. It is recommended that you bring your own flashlight or headlamp. You can rent a flashlight at the trailhead, although they may run out. The parking lot can fill up, so you will want to get there early to beat the crowd. Bats use this cave as a place to hibernate and to roost at night. It is an important part of their habitat.
