There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers. This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by mountain bikers and hikers. Bug spray is recommended due to the number of bugs present in the warm months. The route is not very well-marked and downloading the route beforehand to navigate is suggested.

The trailhead for this scenic paved walk is located along Eureka Springs Rd in a large parking lot. This is a scenic area with wide shaded trails and views of the two ponds in the park. Accessibility: There are several designated accessible spaces in the large paved parking lot off of Himes Avenue at the west end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt or concrete and smooth. It is typically 4 to 10 feet wide (with some wider passing spaces). Here, visitors will travel through a lush hardwood forest full of slash pine, longleaf, and palmettos. This area is known as the "flatwoods" and while there are not many views along the trail, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers.

Locating the trailhead can be difficult; The trailhead is a good walk away from the parking area. Walk down the road to the sidewalk and travel along the sidewalk until you see a boardwalk through the brush. There will be a bulletin board with a map of the area at the start.
