This route can be hard to follow and it is suggested to download the route ahead of time in order to navigate. There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

The GPS directions will sometimes lead to Live Oak Ridge Park, which is closed to the public. Look for Miller Springs Park across the street. Miller Springs Nature Center is a compilation of 10 loop trails located below Belton Lake Dam and between Temple and Belton. Bikes are allowed on the trails accessible from the south entrance (Miller Springs Park) also.
