The Spring Creek Nature Trail Burroughs Extension is a path that extends from the Creekside West trailhead in the George Mitchell Preserve to Burroughs Park. With the exception of open areas near the trailhead, the trail traverses through thick forest throughout, running parallel and across several small creeks. This is a short and scenic loop that takes in views of two large retention ponds with lots of waterfowl as well as wildflowers. The trail is a wide reclaimed roadbed that is now a grassy strip with a single-track dirt trail. Due to the width of the trail, there is no shade during midday, but a little in the morning and afternoon thanks to the adjacent forest.
