The caves belonged for a long time to the Benedictine monks of the Saint-Victor de Marseille abbey. They are now open to the public.

This hike near Salernes in the Var departs from the Saint-Barthélémy car park. The trail leads you first to the Picaillou which dominates the Vallon de Rebosc and offers a beautiful panorama of Salernes. The path takes again the Route de Saint-Barthélémy and follows the Vallon de la Braque by a wooded path and reaches the pretty lake with green hues. This is where the Source of the Braque is located. The path finally leads you to the Sain-Barthélémy Chapel built on a rocky promontory.
