This area is subject to closure from January 1 to April 30 annually for bighorn sheep lambing season. Hikers should not travel more than 400ft off-trail. Hikers may choose to continue up Ventana Canyon to Window Peak.

The Sabino Canyon Tram Road is a paved road running up Sabino Canyon. In the late afternoon when the tram stops running it is ideal for running or cycling. Cycling is not allowed on Wednesday or Saturday, and all other days only before 9:00 AM or after 5:00 PM. Accessibility: There are 8 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of North Pantano Road at the southwest end of the trail.
