This route goes from Lake Cancano to the Croce del Monte Scale (2500m) where you can admire a 360 degree panorama of the entire Bormio valley and the surrounding peaks. Just before reaching the top, you can also visit Forte Monte Scale (2.213m), a high mountain military fortress built between 1911-1912. The bumpy path leading to the fortress is gravel, rocky and very steep therefore not suitable for those suffering from vertigo.
