This is a wide track trail through a canyon that was known for oil drilling and ranching. It becomes a single track about 1.2 miles up that crosses a seasonal stream several times further up the canyon. This hike can be extended by simply going deeper up the trail. Proceed at your own risk once you leave the wide track.

This shady hike is very popular, especially for families, and can be crowded on the weekends. There are several great spots to stop and rest along the way, including a picnic area. At the nature center near the trailhead, there are restroom facilities available. The best time to see the falls is after a recent rain. This seasonal waterfall can be dry unless there has been recent precipitation, especially during the dry summer months.
