A great circular hike in the Gsieser Tal | Valle di Casies in Pustertal | Val Pusteria. The path begins in Ausserpichl and runs on a paved road to the hamlet of Schindelholz. From there an idyllic forest path leads to the Houfa Hitte refuge (1883 m) on the Gschendtnerboden Alm and back again. This easy but pleasant route leads around Lake Dobbiaco. From the center of Dobbiaco the Via al Lago | Seeweg reaches Seghe | Säge. Then through a sparse mixed forest to the beautiful lake. It continues counterclockwise along the Sentiero Natura | Naturlehrpfad, an interactive walk with 11 information panels explaining the flora, fauna and geomorphology. This path is also accessible with strollers. Along the trail there are many opportunities to stop for picnics and for children to play.
