This beautiful scenic loop is conveniently located in the Madera Canyon Dispersed camping area. There are several viewpoints of the rolling hillsides where wildlife can often be spotted. The terrain is relatively easy to navigate, however, it can be overgrown during certain parts of the year and it is suggested to download the offline map.

This trail runs along the western edge of Laguna El Cuervo, an excellent dry lagoon to cross on motorcycles or ATVs. It begins at El Potrero El Llano and will take you approximately 14 kilometers through the desert. There is no shade and it is important to use sun protection and stay well hydrated.

Pine Springs Campground is a desert camping area situated at the base of the Guadalupe mountain. Individual campsites are all on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a short walk in the area that is easy and family-friendly. There are beautiful viewpoints along the way and interesting flora and fauna to observe.

The Bowl Loop Trail is located at the top of the mountain near the Hunter Peak, about 2500 ft. high in front of the Guadalupe Peak Texas Highpoint. To get there you need to take the Frijole Trail, and in about two miles you will find the intersection with the Bear Canyon Trail. The Bear Canyon is a very rugged trail of about two miles long which is steep but well maintained and ends at the intersection with the Bowl Loop Trail.
