This portion of the Okanagan Rail Trail goes from Vernon to Oyama and is great for a bike ride or a walk. The views along the shoreline of Kalamalka Lake are beautiful with plenty of picturesque views and photo opportunities. The steep cliffs on the west side are spectacular with a unique orange/rust tinge. Kalamalka Lake with its multiple hues of blue and green remains a gem to the beholder. This is a nice walk recommended for those looking for ease of terrain for a hike. Bring a beach towel...

Features
This is a lovely trail with beautiful creek and waterfall views. The trail follows the creek so there are lots of spots to splash some cold water on your face or dip your feet in. The majority of the trail is shaded. There are some steep stairs and some serious tree roots to contend with so the trail is not suitable for a stroller or anybody with mobility challenges.

This is a lovely and well maintained trail that is frequently travelled. It goes through spectacular stands of Ponderosa Pine and has some decent views of Kalamalka Lake. Heading in a clockwise direction, there’s a bit of steep, rocky terrain to begin with. Once you hit The Wall, turn right and the elevation is all downhill walking from there.

Coming Round the Mountain is a great loop with a little bit of everything - climbs, long downhills, mountain top views of the lake, switchbacks, and a beach. Going in either direction will have its challenges and steep sections. There are beautiful views of Kalamalka Lake and of Coldstream! As a mountain bike run, there are some nice and flowing downhill runs with a bit of technical terrain through the trees.

This is a nice short hike along beautiful Kalamalka Lake. The first half of the trail before Rattlesnake Point is definitely more of a walk. The second half of the trail is a little more challenging and not as well marked as the first half. There are so many, almost nonstop, beautiful views along the way.
