The only public access to this trail is off of Dalewood Lane which is off of Chatterton Way. All other areas surrounding the trail are private properties, therefore, please stay on the trail. This loop follows a series of dirt trails, elevated boardwalks, and forest routes that give users a variety of nature experiences in this pleasant conservation area.

There is a small parking lot at the trailhead. The area has a well-labelled trail system throughout the park (Green – Easy; Blue – Moderate; Black – Difficult). This trail is more challenging than most hikers expect, especially when the rocks are wet during winter or fall after it rains. The most challenging section of the route is when you are following Blenkinsop Trail right at the start of the hike. It is generally quick compared to other hikes in the area, with great views as a payoff....

This loop takes you along a fantastic flat trail circling the lake. This route is popular for locals and folks coming to the area, so expect to see lots of people and dogs on-leash. A favourite time of the year to hike here is fall when many of the trees in the mountains and near the lake change colours. This route up to PKOLS (formerly Mount Douglas) is short and steep. The trail begins through forest but soon transitions out and has very little shade throughout the second portion. The upper half has some minor scrambling on rocks. From the top there are great views of the entirety of Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula. This trail can be combined with other trails in the park to make it into a loop.
