This route begins on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail by Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary and there is a small parking lot off of Saanich Road next to the trailhead. The trail is commonly used for walking, running, and cycling. The trail is mostly paved with some small sections of crushed limestone.
