This loop explores the outer trails at Dinosaur State Park. There are shorter, inner trails to shorten or lengthen your visit. The terrain is diverse: flat, rocky, gravel and leaves and sticks. The state park grounds are open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30p.m. Hiking trails close at 4 p.m. The park is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. This paved trail goes through Cove Park along Wethersfield Cove. Accessibility: There is 1 designated accessible space in the paved parking lot off of Hartford Avenue at the southwest end of the trail. It is not van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt, smooth, and typically at least 6 feet wide. The estimated grade is gentle (3% or less). This trail will likely be navigable for most trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers.

The main trail at Dividend Pond is a 2.5 mile loop around the pond and wetlands. Numerous mills and factories were located at the site dating back to the 1600s. Near the main parking area are some remaining foundations and a staircase bordering a scenic waterfall. The dam near the parking area features the remains of the old mills and factories that were once located here. As such, this is a protected archaeological site.
