Crescent Drive Park Trail follows a mostly wood-chipped trail with numerous benches throughout overlooking the Red River. The eastern sections of this loop are generally the more pleasant hike, since you will be alongside the river. The rest of the loop follows forest trails that sometimes border fencing. There is a lot of wildlife here, and this loop is open all-year, so be sure to return here for fall foliage or a snowshoe.

This is a leisurely walk around and through the University of Manitoba campus. It is paved and accessible throughout, including many newly paved walkways and bikeways. Part of the walk is along the Red River where there is beautiful scenery and picnic tables to sit and enjoy a snack. Canada geese and sometimes even deer can be spotted on the trail.

Thundering Bison Trail is a simple, mostly paved and gravel walking trail that will be good for any visitor, anytime. It is an inner-city route that begins at the River Heights Fort Garry community and runs alongside Sterling Lyon Parkway. It turns around at the intersection of the Assiniboine Forest. If you're wanting a quieter, forested route, this would be a great start to the trail network in the woods.
